This horrible scenario is probably happening to you all the time.
You wake up on Game Day, excited and full of energy. You think: "I trained hard, my diet and sleep were on point, today is going to be great. I’ll perform, gain my coach's trust, and prove the doubters wrong."
After warming up, you check the starting 11, and all the bad feelings in the world rush through your system..
Why? Because for the 14th time this season (out of 14), you're not starting the game. You're sitting on the cold bench, feeling angry and disappointed. You hope maybe you’ll get in during the second half.
But when the final whistle blows, you realize you didn’t play at all.
Your teammates are celebrating the win, but all you can think about is, "Maybe I should quit"
I don't know about you man, but for me...
I had that sad depressing thought every single week, whether we won or lost. This why I knew that I had to make a change immediately
I mean, I tried everything to improve my situation…
- I tried listening to motivational/relaxing music before games
- I tried multiple gym programs/training session structures
- I even tried every advice "fascia gurus" suggested (no gym, towel curls, grounding, etc...)
But nothing worked and that literally drove me crazy...
Everything changed once I tried this:
Then one week, I tried something I heard about many times but never fully believed in. I was in a hopeless situation so it was basically my last resort, everything changed since then...
As usual, I was on the bench... And for the first time, I wasn't angry or stressed. I just thought: “If I play, I'll perform… if I don't, it doesn't matter, eventually I'll become a starter.
I entered the pitch in the second half, and... I'll never forget how I felt during that game. I scored, I created a lot of chances, I only made a few mistakes. And even when I made those mistakes, I didn't care, I just continued playing.
For the next few games the same thing happened… Consistent performance, more goals & assists, and only a few mistakes.
And that's when I thought to myself: "That's it, I'll never play a bad game again!"
That's it, I'll never play a bad game again.
I realized that if I keep this mindset I will continue improving and eventually go pro. The core of my success was mental training. And because of that, now for the first time...
I'm free from all the feelings that were holding me back. Doubt, fear, not being good enough...etc.
And even when I'm on the bench (rarely now), I never doubt myself for a second. I realized many players face similar challenges... being benched, losing confidence, doubting themselves.
Since I overcame those feelings, I want to help as many players as possible rise above their struggles.
And that's why I created MENTAL 2.0
You have to make an urgent choice (your career is at stake)
You have, choice 1:
- You could forget everything you've read and continue playing the same way as before...
- You could keep working yourself into the ground, trying to stand out and go pro in an oversaturated market...
- You could continue being an average, inconsistent, scared, benched player, who never impresses anyone.
Or you have, choice 2:
- You can decide that your career is too short to be sadly sitting on a bench all the time.
- You can take the right strategy and get the support you need from someone who has helped himself and a lot of players overcome the same situation you are currently in.
